Ministries:
Church Library
The
church library is fortunate to have new quarters. Thanks to the
renovation of the old library and the addition of former Sunday
School space by the Livingston family, the church library is fully
functional and ready to provide services to the congregation.
The
new library was designed and crafted entirely by the Livingston
family. Freda Livingston, wife of John Livingston, provided the
vision and oversaw the day-to-day progress. Joe and John helped
with the general construction and crafted the fine oak shelving.
Tom Livingston provided the blueprint and designed an intarsia,
Path Through the Woods, which
occupies the rear wall. David was responsible for the new lighting
and wiring and some of the general construction. Carole Ricketts,
a daughter, helped with the painting along with
Fran, Tom's wife. Finally, Mrs. Livingston designed and made the
window treatments and chair cushions and prepared many meals to
feed the "work crew." The library, which is very warm
and inviting, is truly a work of love and a gift to the glory
of God.
The
church library is open on Sunday mornings at 9:30 am until worship
service. The library is also open on Wednesday nights at 6:15
pm. The library has many books which you may find helpful in preparing
your Sunday School lessons and for Christian growth and development.
A wide assortment of Christian fiction and biography are also
available. We also have easy books for children, and a small collection
of children's videos.
The
library collection is computerized making it easy to locate materials
pertinent to your subjects. Circulation is also computerized making
it easy to check materials in and out.
We
are constantly trying to upgrade our collection. Since our budget
is limited, we welcome contributions of recent Christian books
to our collection. Think about donating a book to the library
on your child's birthday or other special occasion. If you would
like to donate books or monies for this collection, please contact
Barbara Mills or Nancy Gibson for suggestions.
Another
area of need is in audio-visual collection. We are particularly
interested in books on tape and Christian videos.
We
look forward to serving you. Stop by and see if we have something
to interest you.
Coming
